15 Questions you NEED to ask before selecting an Energy Audit course
Where you take your classes, who teaches you and what you learn DOES make a difference with how successful you’ll be.
You want a school with experienced owners and instructors who have the certification that you want to achieve and the equipment that you will need hands-on training with to pass your exams. Hint: If they rent space, don't have a permanant location, have instructors who are just starting out, there is a reason.
Ask these questions BEFORE you spend hundreds of dollars on an Energy Audit course:
- Are you a BPI affiliate? Check BPI affiliate status here.
- Do you provide the students with $1000’s of equipment to use in hands-on training?
- Is your curriculum designed especially for the climate that I will be working in?
- What classroom materials do you use?
- Do you have a physical office that I can come and visit?
- Can I review the course for free?
- Do your instructors offer tutoring?
- Can I register for my course over the phone?
- Can I register for my course in person?
- Do you have dedicated education counselors that I can call or speak to in-person with questions?
- Can I take a tour of the facilities that I will be training in?
- Is all of my training, testing, and equipment use included in one price?
- Who are your instructors and how much training have they done?
- Is the owner BPI certified and have extensive knowledge of construction and home sales?
- Do you provide live courses?
